Applying to Berklee College of Music requires an audition and/or interview. Berklee’s unique admissions process allows us to learn about you while assessing your potential to succeed in our dynamic community. The strength of your audition and/or interview is taken into consideration when we award merit-based scholarships, so we recommend preparing early using the tips found in our insider’s guide to auditions and interviews.
Who Needs to Audition?
Applicants to a Bachelor of Music program are required to complete a live audition and interview, which we conduct around the world and virtually.
Applicants to the Bachelor of Arts in Music Industry Leadership and Innovation program do not audition, but are required to complete an online interview.

We travel around the world to reach as many musicians as possible and host in-person auditions at our campuses in Boston, New York City, and Valencia, Spain, as well as other spaces such as recording studios, schools, and concert venues.
Complete your live audition and interview online from the comfort of your home. You’ll connect directly with Berklee faculty and staff members, just like you would at an in-person event.
Travel to a nearby Berklee Global Partner School to audition with a hybrid in-person and online experience. At these events, we provide the same musical equipment as our in-person auditions.
