Berklee College of Music’s groundbreaking programs immerse music educators in the latest research and technologies to help them become more effective teachers and mentors. Designed for working educators, we offer evening courses in the fall and spring, plus two full-time summer sessions. Academic-year coursework can be completed remotely through web conferencing and student-directed study.

Rhoda Bernard, Ed.D.

Managing Director, Berklee Institute for Accessible Arts Education

Assistant Chair, Music Education Berklee College of Music

Rhoda Bernard holds a BA in government from Harvard University, a BM in jazz voice from New England Conservatory, and both an EdM and EdD from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. An internationally recognized expert in accessible arts education, she is a frequent speaker and published author, with work appearing in leading journals such as Music Educators Journal and Music Education Research. She received a 2025 Fulbright Specialist Residency in Dublin, Ireland, and has earned numerous honors, including the Irene Buck Service to Arts Education Award and the Berklee Urban Service Award. A jazz and Jewish music vocalist and pianist, she performs regularly with klezmer bands and has recorded two albums with Klezamir.

Berklee is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE) and authorized by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education.
